Some of the Best Hostels in All of Europe

Every international city has hostels, but there are a few hostels that truly ring out across Europe. These are the places that backpackers bring up through word of mouth, the kind of places that build a reputation such that people go to the cities they are in just to stay there. Usually what makes a great hostel in Europe is an all out sense of fun where backpackers not only have fun inside the hostels walls but also in a great city. Some of the very best hostels in Europe are.

Flying Pig Hostel – Amsterdam, Netherlands

Dorm beds start at 14 Euros at the Flying Pig Downtown (there are three locations in the city) and the fun keeps on going higher and higher. With its own coffee shop right inside of the hostel there is never any shortage of things to smoke here. Not far from the red light district or the fun of Leidseplein this hostel is the class of Amsterdam.

Kabul Hostel – Barcelona, Spain

With a hundred other options near Barcelona’s Las Ramblas street Kabul still retains nearly 100% occupancy every night of the year. Not bothering with single or double rooms Kabul just packs people in to the dorms for their legendary, frenetic party vibe. With insane happy hour specials expect to see backpackers carrying one litre jugs of beer, sometimes two, for themselves around 6 pm. Kabul is a great representative of the kinds of fun that Barcelona is known for.

13491041113 Ducks Hostel – Paris, France

3 Ducks has a great locations and a charming little Parisian court yard in the middle of the hostel that hostel residents sit in and enjoy some sunshine during the day and beers by night. Always a wonderfully eclectic grouping of characters at the hostel groups often go out at night for different pub crawls and impromptu trips, with lots of wine, to the Eifel Tower.

The Pink Palace – Corfu, Greece

Perhaps the world’s most infamous and well known hostel the Pink Palace has wild, outrageous parties all the time. Day time events at the Palace include booze cruises, beach lounging, and of course beers on the patio. By night there is always a big dinner followed by a party. With any luck you will happen to be here the day of the toga party. At the toga party residents get to feel a little like the heroes of ancient Greece at least living out some of the era’s famous hedonism.
